Hi,
I am sure that the early Taurus SHO engines were built by Yamaha, but dont know at what year they changed. Based on the difficulty of obtaining the shims overall, it may very well be worth checking further into it. Just remember that Suzuki made a 29.5mm shim, so take a set of calipers with you to be sure. You can't even hold the both together and tell the difference, it just won't quiiiiite fit in the bucket.

Yep, I to got the 29.5 mm shim before, it will not go in. I found a local bike shop that has a complete set of shims and sold me what I needed at $2 or $3 a shim.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
