Fred, So you cut the crome part off?...thats awesome...but why didn't you just pull them off?...I have to agree with you on the Harleyesque part...I forgot to say i dont have them on my XS...They are on my Marauder 1600...which i've customized a bit, with things like a mustang saddle, those grips, and straight pipes... I dont want my bike to look or sound like a Harley...but i get more compliments on it than all my friends with harley's...they get pissed...I think its great!...

Hi Nate,
well, everybody does that; carb bodies are expensive and hard to find, after all.
But no, the chrome trim won't pull off in one piece because the rubber diamond-shapes stick up through the chrome matrix.

Well when i had put them on I actually put the rubber on first, then i put the chrome piece over the top...but then again, isn't that how everything works, you put it on one way and take it off another...

Here's a pic of mine....
Here's mine. I got them cheap on ePay for about 25 bucks shipped.... I really like the looks of them. Gets kinda tiring riding for longer periods of time though.... The left side controls barely hits my tank, now I have a small ding on my tank
. I think I'm gonna get some handlebar risers/spacers to bump them up an inch so they won't hit the tank.

very nice bike...U confirmed my thoughts on getting some atv/dirtbike type bars...Here's mine. I got them cheap on ePay for about 25 bucks shipped.... I really like the looks of them. Actually, that's a brand name that's come to identify that tool (diagonal cutting pliers), much like channellock (adjustable pump pliers), kleins (9" linemen pliers), crescent wrench (adjustable wrench), or hickey (rigid conduit bender)...
