  • Middle Drive

    79xs11f
Tonight I disconnected the Final drive and swing arm. While doing so, I discovered the Large nut on the middle drive was completely cracked off, keeping the final drive from connecting to the middle drive. I pulled the middle case out, and now im taking the 3 allen heads out to pull the gear.

If the output gear/shaft are damaged, throw the whole middle drive away (or send it to XSChop for a chain drive conversion) and get another one. These, like the final drive, have an elaborate set-up procedure with a bunch of special tools and you're supposed to replace the gears as a set. You can't replace just parts of it....

        Hi '63,
do not despair, go to the XS11 parts for sale forum and check the listings. Andreas Weiss always has a good selection of used parts and there are others too.
