    Hi Pete,
    but what are they? The package says "Sintered metal" at the bottom and "Ceramic Carbon technology" along the top.
    So they are manufactured by a sintering process but as Carbon is the basis of all organic life they must also be organic? 50% this + 50% that? 100% hype?
    So long as they work, right?

      Hey Fred,
      no idea, thats what the guy at the bike shop
      was selling at the time,
      all i know tho, they do work well at all speeds.

        Just a bit of a thread hijack here, but I gotta point out that when I drilled a set of rotors for Black Ice, I used one generic no-name brand HSS drill, and was still getting cuttings like this when I finished the last hole on the third rotor:



        I did use a good drill sharpener after every 10 or 15 holes, and sharpened to a split point configuration, but there was nothing exotic about the drill.

          What did you use for cutting fluid? That can make a big difference...
