The garage is also my mancave. The PO removed the big door and put a wall there.

Well, here's a mock-up. It's gonna take a lot of work, but it adds quite a bit of length!

That looks like it may work nice. They are some big bars a few pick back. Don't your arms fall asleep?

Looking good! Any issues with centering the swingarm and lining up the driveshaft and tire?

After a long hiatus, I will be picking back up on my VStar 650 swingarm mod this summer (and fall, and winter)

                    Alright,
I'm gonna have to get some spacers for in between the swingarm and the frame. Spacers for the rear axle. A longer rear axle. Tap a hole in the swingarm for the brake assembly, and longer brake lines. Then, shave down the coupler ( I guess you would call it?) where the driveshaft plugs into the final drive about 3/16" And PRESTO!
I'm going to do something different with my seat rails, but I don't see any reason one couldn't do this mod and not cut the frame.
                    Here's a rough pic.

Works pretty good for being a different model bike, and ten years difference!

I hope your frame welds are good! I'd hate to hear about dragging bottom due to a fame failure!!!

To be honest, I hadn't thought about it til you asked. I'll do some research.

I think if you run the XS11 FD (which I see you have mocked up), the widest tire you can fit will be 6.25". That assumes cutting away the swingarm to expose the driveshaft and zero clearence to the shaft. To gain any more, you'll need to space the wheel away from the FD somehow...
