  • 1179 Piston Pin Clip Install - trickto this ?

Gonna try to get my pistons installed this morning .

Anyone got a trick to get these little wire C clips into pistons ?

Rings are installed, and I can do one clip before I put the piston on the rods, but the other side is gonna be tricky at best without dropping one of these little clips down the engine case ..

    thanks .

I used a dowel with a slot cut in to help hold it.

it worked good video of me doing it shows mostly my shoulder but the clips went in without them springing aroung all over the place.

    Good Luck

Stuff lots of shop rags around the con rods so there is no way anything can drop into the crankcase.

thanks guys, we got them in without any casualties or any clips going awol ..

You would think some Wiseco would "wise" up and use some circlips on these kits .. oh well ..

        Anyway

tinman and I used some hi-tech tools here .. lol ..

3 pieces of wood and a plastic quick grip clamp, worked like a charm ..
