    [QUOTE=DGXSER;267567]Hello FabFab,

    IF #3 is cold andyou have had issues with the wire before I would definitely check the wire first. You can try switching #3 and #2 as suggested. They do fire together. I second the thought of cutting about 1/4" or so of wire off, cleaning the inside of the cap up good, and rescrewing the plug cap back on the wire tight.

    I switched today and pipe 2 is still hot and 3 cold .... So I want to check the fuel supply now since I got my carbs done last year. thanks

        I will go with the 1st diagram. Thank you
        All those are way more complicated than you need, but that's your choice. I will say that I doubt you'll be able to route them like that though. The nipples on the petcocks point straight down on the XJ and if you bend the lines to go over the carbs like shown, it'll kink the lines and shut off your fuel. That defeats the whole purpose of going to the opposite carbs.

        I don't know how to tell you more simply. One fuel line down, under, and up to the opposite bank of carbs. You can put another line on the front nipple and "Y" the line if you want, but you don't need to. You can cap that front one off or just leave it open and don't switch the petcock to prime.

                Again.. you guys are showing the lines going down to the carbs from the top and that won't work with the XJ. Petcocks aren't made like that and they are lower than the XS petcocks. You would have to bend the fuel line 180 degrees tightly and go UP to go over the carbs.

                          If it helps Tod, I understood and agree. As I said, I've tried on my XS11 special to route my fuel lines as Phil shows it and everytime I get kinks and air pockets that starve my carbs.

                          I have two bikes with the same setup, basically even simpler than what Tod stated. I simply take the on tap for the left side down between air inlets for carbs 1 and 2. Just below where the line is below the narrowest section between the two air inlets, I cut in a fuel filter. From the bottom of the fuel filter my fuel line drops down and then back up to the fuel T that points about 45 degrees or more down. Repeat on the opposite side. When pulling the tank the fuel filter will fit between the air inlet tubes to give some line for connecting to the tank.

                            I sent this to him.. but my fuel routing.

                            Can't get much simpler... cut each line somewhere and put in a filter if you want.

                                mine are plumbed the way dgxser said.left petcock feeds 1 & 2 carbs.got a inline fliter there.right petcock feeds 3 & 4 carbs with inline filter. have no problems with air bubbles. why do you cross the fuel lines, left petcock feeds right carbs,right feeds left carbs. i think it looks neater the way i have them. and it works.
