I second the thought of cutting about 1/4" or so of wire off, cleaning the inside of the cap up good, and rescrewing the plug cap back on the wire tight.
I switched today and pipe 2 is still hot and 3 cold .... So I want to check the fuel supply now since I got my carbs done last year. thanks

mine are plumbed the way dgxser said.left petcock feeds 1 & 2 carbs.got a inline fliter there.right petcock feeds 3 & 4 carbs with inline filter. have no problems with air bubbles. why do you cross the fuel lines, left petcock feeds right carbs,right feeds left carbs. i think it looks neater the way i have them. and it works.
