How to easily add an "off" to your standard's petcocks

    Hey whad'ya know, it works! Works good too, forgot to turn them on and started to spit and sputter, not quite use to it yet. BTW just a few file strokes on the end of the lever arm will make it clear the tank. Thanks again for the great idea!

      vacum problems

      so if i understand this correctly its as simple as removing my diaphams and a little grindind=g with my dremel ( which i have never used lol ) .my real ? is this whats the harm in removing my petcock diaphram

        You don't even really have to mess with the diaphragms at all. Just pull the chrome plate (2 screws) and grind that stopped of at the 12 o'clock position and put it back on, done...

            can I do this with fuel in the tank?
            How much fuel do you want on the ground?
            With a "low" tank, you can pull it off the bike, put the back up on blocks so the fuel is towards the front of the tank, and do it. You really need the tank empty or almost empty to do it easily and safely.

                omg!!! I am so glad I waited for a response. I almost went ahead and did this with a full tank of gas because surely,

                "if it was supposed to be done on an empty tank 'empty the gas tank' would have been in the directions"

                Glad I didn't listen to intuition.
