    whats the difference?

    between 79f carbs and 79sf carbs,
    91 kwaka kz1000p

    There is no difference in the carbs themselves. Yamaha may have put slightly different jets in them.
    1979 xs1100 Special -
    Stock air box/K&N Filter, MAC 4-2 exhaust, Bad-Boy Air horn, TC fuse box, Windshield, Soft bags, Vetter Fairing, Blinkers->Run/Turn/Brake Lights, Headlight Modulator, hard wire GPS power

    Short Stack - 1981 xs1100 Standard - lowered for SWMBO.

      Cosmetically the two outer diaphragm caps are chromed on the 79 SF:

        The 79 SF carbs had different emulsion tubes in 2 & 3 . Plus of coarse the choke lever. Less holes in the side of the tubes 10 vs 16.

            See this thread in the maintenance tech tips section



            Looks like F and SF came from the factory with the same size jets, according to the chart. That doesn't mean that a PO hasn't swapped all manner of crazy jet combinations into one or more of your carbs though....
