ON a clean system, DOT 5 works VERY WELL, thank you! I've run it for almost two years in my old daily ride with NO problems. The DOT5 IS a silicon base fluid, and DOES NOT attract water like DOT3/4. I went to DOT 5 when I installed the stainless brake lines, and rebuild the master and caliper at the same time. The NICE part about 5 is it WILL NOT eat the paint like 3/4. JMHO

I have heard that OEM type seals are not made to and will not hold up to dot5. I tend to want to believe that after my old clutch master started leaking and progressively got worse in a couple years time after cleaning and switching to dot5. Could be a coincidence, though.

I had put in rebuild kits from georgefix on ebay. So far, they soom to hold up, though I'm NOT riding that bike due to transmission problems........
