Cannot say forsure, but the rear wheel specs is about what I have on Bones, with as far as I know a standard swingarm with a 750FD.
Bones is in the workshop, will let you know tomorrow

Today was a big day for the parts fairy. got my complete swingarm and assorted bits, Busa shock, tank, and busa forks. Suprisingly, the busa forks are even shorter than the R1 forks are by about 1-1/4", this is going to really lower this thing. Hope its not too much. Now that I can actually look at the tank, I LOVE it, I really like the color too. Kind of a gun metal blue metallic. I dont think the monoshock fabrication will be as bad as I originally expected, but the swingarm pivot mount is going to be a pain.
...... but the swingarm pivot mount is going to be a pain.
Naahhh, it's not a pain, just a bit of welding and making a one off axle.
You have to weld in a vertical plate between the u-joint and the left swingarm bearing. I'll have a look if I have some pictures..

Ive actually got a several pics of your setup saved already. I dont see it as being overly difficult, just time consuming.
One question though, did you cut down the swingarm at the pivot tube on either side or have any centering issues?
The shaft on the new swing arm, is it directly compatible with the XS or do you have to fit a different type of CV-yoke in there?
Nother question that got into my head. Wouldn't a 17 Litre teardrop tank go better with the conversion?

Can't remember and as the swingarm has been powdercoated i can't check. Send me some pics from the sides of your swingarm and i will compare them with mine.. And the stock FJR shaft fits one on one to the XS without a single mod. That is if you keep the standard XS swingarm pivot.

Ill snap some closer pics, but from the looks of the pics I have of your ride, it doesnt look like it was modified. And if it was, it would have been a somewhat involved process since there really isnt much material that can be removed. Its just been kind of a PITA to try and find the centerline on this asymmetrical swingarm without having a wheel on hand yet. I think Ive got it pretty close and I dont think any swingarm modding would be necessary. I am really surprised at how close everything seems to fit. Its should be pretty straightforward as far as the frame mods go, and the monoshock conversion is 10x easier than i expected it to be, but I will still probably overbuild it.
There are casting marks on my swingarm around the bearing cup on the pivot tubes, round and square marks. They are 3/8" from the edge of the casting marks to the outside edge of the swingarm pivot on both sides. If yours has the same marks, it would be a good reference point.
These are the only pics Ive got at the moment, Ill try to snap some closer ones later.
Here's a nice little bonus. I bought a Ducati Monster clutch system for the slave cylinder and stainless line it had to use on my FZR hydro clutch conversion. Got a good deal on it too, but the whole thing came with a master cylinder too. I already have a few Yamaha slave cylinders for the XS11 hydro clutch conversion, and my stock clutch cover is at the machinist to have a new one made to mount the slave to. This master cylinder is a Brembo and although it is simple, its essentially free for this build and will match the Hayabus brake MC I need to use with the 6 pot calipers until I can afford aftermarket radials. Eventually, I am going to use a radial clutch MC just like I have for my FZR. Its from an Aprilia and it is oh so sexy, but for the purposes of functionality, Ill use what i have to get it going.
Looking good so far!!! but somehow i dont think you are going to get very good cornering or milage out of that front "tire" there.....not even if you put its mate with it
Betcha that living room is about 60-70 degrees warmer than my garage (im
jealous....SWMBO would string me up by my tight curlies if i tried doing that!!!_

That looks like a NICE conversion!! My only thought is the swingarm is in the "compressed" position, correct?? The front and rear axles should be about the same height off the floor, I think. The tire diameter from front and rear should only be about 2" off. The front forks put the axle almost on the floor, and the rear is up about 6". The mount for the shock should be closer to the rear tubes, not the front ones. JMHO
Again, LOOKING GOOD!!

Its all just mocked up right now to get a visual for the fabrication necessary, which I will probably get started on next week. The rear is higher because thats as low as I could get it with a sideways jackstand. I need to get a rear wheel before I can do any final work though since the swingarm is asymmetrical Im not sure exactly where the centerline is. So once I have the wheels I can work out ride height amd suspension tab position. the front forks wil lower the bike quite a bit, so I will more than likely have a new upper triple tree made to give me a little extra height out of it so i dont have clearance problems. I need to drop the rear too, and can evaluate that once I have the seat in place I am going to use.
