I was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction?I have a set of perforated diaphragms, and am after replacements!
Im told they are not avail new anymore--so what do I do --without spending heaps on new carbs?

The bike is an Australian 3/82 XS1100R vin 5n5-000919
    Diaphragm part no 5K7-14940-00

I have purchased a set of diaphragm slides from the USA that I cant use(which were for the wrong model--.035" shorter slides-Capitol Carbs).

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!!!!!!!!

    Thanx Guys---

I believe that sirius con online has just the diaphrams which can be replaced while using your original slides. My XS400 uses the same carbs and slides so I ordered new diaphrams and replaced them about a year ago, they are still working just like new.

If you cant find the right ones, dab it with a bit of silicone on both sides of the tear or hole. Just a thin layer on both sides. This will keep your bike moving until you can get the right stuff.

We have a place called "Diaphragm Man". You drop off your sample and they will make you new ones. See if you guys maybe have someone like that in Australia. In short all they do is silicone moldings, and that is all you basically need.

Unfortunately a lot of the parts we need is made out of unobtainium, so most of us has started using what we can get hold of and changing to suite the current market. I am now currently looking into the possibility of making throttle bodies for my XS with a fuel and timing management system. So far things look promising, and it will be a nice upgrade to new technology along with some added VROOOOOMMMMMMMMmmmm to the bike. This upgrade will also bypass all the small parts made out of unobtainium. Fortunate for me a purchased a good set of Crabs about two weeks ago, and have the old set to play and fidget with. Currently the R1 seems to be the best injectors and fuel/timing unit that can be modified onto my old carbs. Will eventually be at a point where I will post the project, but is currently in it's very early stages so dont have enough info to give more.

The diaphragms are available, as are all parts for the carbs. They are a bit expensive, but if you only have to replace it once, and wait another 30 years to do it again, it's not that bad. All the other parts are readily available from several sources.

Yeah just imagine sticking R1 injectors in them with the timing/ignition unit.
