Ok, solved the problem. Fitted new globes right round. It took single filaments in front and back.
Did the same. Then stripped off my head light and checked all the wiring, all was OK. Then unplugged my left indicator globe, and my right didn't work, then unplugged the right indicator globe with the left fitted, and the left didn't work.
Made me realize that the two globes are earthing each other. Removed the earth from the headlight casing, and ran a wire fro the battery to the indicators earth, and all worked perfectly.
I spliced my indicators into my headlights earth, and bobs your uncle, all working the way they should.
