    G'day Tom,

I have just had the exact same problem after swapping out my battery for a new one. (not that it had anything to do with it)
I found that the red and white wire from the kill switch had an huge amount of impedance and was not completing the ignition circuit.
I found a wire had been stretched and had an internal break in the loom.
I simply disconnected the offending wire and rerouted a new one to the solenoid to fix the problem.
Later I will unravel the loom and fix it properly.
Preferably when the riding weather is lousy!

    Hope this helps,

    Stava.
