Can someone tell me if the jardine 4into1 exits in front or behind the rear axle? can you keep the centerstand and can you change the oil filter?I have a 1979 xs1100 special. Thanks!

It exits an inch or two behind the axle so the can has to be removed to get the axle out. The oil filter is not in the way, and you can leave the center stand on. At least thats true for my 79 std, shouldnt be different for the special. Others will let you know if it is. GL!

Something interesting I learned a few weeks ago about the XS11 is the factory tool kit had a cable that attached from the swing arm to the frame near the shock absorber mount that held the spring compressed so the rear axle could be removed without taking the mufflers loose.

      Smart guys those Yamaha engineers.

My pipes block the axle, I took the shocks off and used a tie down strap to raise swingarm. Shocks were easier to remove than pipes.
Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.

With my jardine I've found I can remove the rear exhaust mounting bolt and push the silencer out of the way to get access to the rear axle without any special tools. I did have to fabricate a little metal strap to accomodate the rear mounting bolt, as the bracket that's welded to the silencer just won't reach. My $.02
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
