Hey there, it's me again. This forum as up until now given me ever answer I've needed which is wonderful. But now I've done something really, really stupid. I noticed I was leaking oil so I put more in thinking it was running dry. This happened a couples times so I'm pretty sure I overfilled it a great amount. Needless to say I noticed the oils was dripping from the air filter box and soon after started blowing huge clouds of white smoke.( According to what I've read this is because I overfilled it I think) Anyway I sent it to the shop to figure out what was wrong and told them about the oil, so instead of checking the oil and whatnot they decided to check the seals and gaskets which are of course nearly 30 years old so they're cracked and whatnot. And they want to replace all of them for $2500. So anyway I was wondering if I drain the oil and put in the right amount will I be ok? Will I quit blowing smoke? Are there any other problems that could have resulted from my mistake? The bike, even while blowing huge amounts of smoke, was running like a champ like she always does so I'm not thoroughly convinced that I ruined everything completely ya know. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thank You!
