  • head light search

    Any One please help. i need the large rectangle head light for xs11 1978. Ican not find one oem or after market. has any body tired to modify one of these sealbeams with automotive light. some body please help me!

    Couple are on eBay. Or try member Andreas. The 78 is a sealed beam unit, but 79's and up use a replaceable H4 bulb. If you can find a 79 & up lens, that would be the way to go. Much brighter too.

      If you find one with the replaceable H4 bulb you can put a H4 style HID bulb. Much brighter and less draw on the battery and charging system. If I remember correctly, 55/65 watts with the halogen. 35 watts with the HID.

        Post you location and if someone is close they may help! The '78 had a sealed beam headlight, but the '79 and later standard have the H4 type headlamp. I would look for the the later model light! You CAN make a regular light work, but it will take some time.

            When I got my MNS (round headlight), it had been modified to accept the sealed beam unit. I had to replace it shortly after I got it, and it was nice to be able to go to autozone and pick up a generic headlight for around $11.
