A while back I rode to/from Idaho. Had charging problems. Finances low and don't ride as much now so both XS's are parked.
Yesterday my pick-up malfunctioned (wife drove it, happens everytime she drives it). Intermittent loss of power to ignition which caused backfires. One backfire blew my muffler apart. So, even if I get the truck running right I am still mufflerless.
So I dug into the E. I had a feeling what the problem was and I was right. The 4 wire connector (3 white and 1 yellow) was melted. I marked, snipped, and reconnected the wires and it's charging again. Now to find a decent connector rather than the 4 individual connectors. Think a flat 4 prong trailer connectoer would stand the heat?
