  • Howdy to all you Yamafreaks

Hey there, was hoping to find a forum dedicated to these bikes, have had two so far, my favorite rides.

Grew up with the neighbor launching his XS11 every morning on the way to work, and it apparently left an indelible mark on my brain. Had one a number of years ago, and kicked myself everyday after selling it for a new literbike.

Then for my 45th birthday, my lovely wife delivered this to my front yard:

Winner is me! 1982 XJ1100, it's nearly perfect. A few little things here and there, has 11K miles on it, and a Kerker header that makes the dogs howl when I get on it. What a great ride.

Looking forward to having some chats with like minded Yamaha lovers.

YOU.. of all people didn't really just say that, did you? If that isn't a case of the pot calling the kettle black....

Obviously a matter of "Do as I say, not as I do"..

Man, I can't believe you sold your XJ...

It would have been if you'd have quit riding it long enough to rub on things a bit..

I'm up near Rochester, NY. Fairly active group of riders in the area, and several dragstrips nearby.

Would love to have a meetup sometime with other owners here.

Man... between you and Ben, you guys are like the guy at the office who shoves their kids' pics in your face even though you didn't ask to see them... lol.

Quit trying to one-up the guy's photos of his new baby! Either that... or you guys post pics of the bikes that YOUR wife bought and surprised you with. (Thinkin' that would be a pretty short list..)

I gotta say though.. If my wife were to buy me a gift like that, I'd be elated... for about 5 seconds. Then I'd have to turn to her and say, "OK.. tell me what you did wrong..."
