  • Need to find new 4 into 1 header

Can anyone tell me were to find a new chrome header,is MAC the only one?

  • #2
    Hey R&R,

Yep, they are about the only game in town for NEW! Aside from a few postings about places in the UK or such, but again $$$. And I don't know if you can get just the headers, I think you have to get the entire assembly, muffler and all!

Is yours banged up, rusted thru, or just badly pitted and such and you just want a nicer looking header??

IF just pitted and not damaged, you might look into JetHotCoating, they have a coating that's close to chrome!

Is there a particular reason that MAC is not too popular? They don't seem to be high on very many lists.
I have another bike in the wings that will eventually need a set of something.

The macs I've seen seem to rust in a year, You may do better with a used Kerker from ebay. I've got a new Jardine in the box out in the garage, but the header is black. I just sold an old supertrap double walled header not too long age for $50, sorry you missed it.

The Mac's will last much longer if you scuff the chrome down and paint them, BTDT.

I saw a thread about these a while ago and saved this to my browser favorites.

I just emailed MAC and asked if they would consider offering a black pipe with a chrome can like they do for some models. Will let ya know that they say.

The Jardine people did a link request for my site and I asked them about pipes for the XS11 and they don't have any are aren't planning to reintroduce them.

                            Hey Wiz,

I hope you're successful, but right now, this is all they offer. The Black headers are only for the XJ650/750's 4 cylinders, and I don't know what the spacing of the exhausts are, as well as the diameter of the ports, or whether they could be stretched, bent to fit the XS11??

The Mac is considered to be a "replacement" pipe. It does not add any HP but will reduce weight for the money. Back in the day when exhaust parts were available, a 4 - 1 was usually desired for its ability to increase HP. The Mac didn't make that list.
