    $$$$

I also use Progressive(I guess that Flo gal just does it for me), carrying only liability and roadside assistance.

$67/yr. The roadside runs me about $.80/month.

Figured that the roadside is the way to go. At least they can get my bike somewhere secure, while I am off to the hospital. LOL.

And my take is that anyone who doesn't carry liability is a selfish drag on society. This is because of a run in I had in the cage a few years back with an uninsured motorist. Never got 2 pennies out of the SOB for fixing my car .

man , virginia sucks , i'm paying $17 a month for mine , i have a 100% spotless record , the only ticket i ever got i talked myself out of it court . i'm a model driver and yet i'm paying $17 a month for liability only . i'm with nationwide which was the cheapest for me next to progressive , but progressive wanted me to pay the whole thing up front and i don't like doing that . i feel like i'm paying too much now ...lame

Wow this is turning into a pretty interesting thread. I never knew that insurance cost was that different. I guess I'm pretty lucky to have the $2.71 bill every month. We also have life insurance, home, and two vehicles so we get discounts. I'm also a B student and get a discount for that.

Don't ask me how I know - but in Ontario if you are a new driver its about a buck per cc for Just 1M Liability coverage & goes up from there. One buddy of mine was paying about $1700 per year with an 1100 yamaha will all the coverages. Even more crazy I know a young guy around 21 yrs old with a brand new 800 cc Zuzuki paying $3200 per year with all coverages. I'm at $586/yr with my 1100 & thats actually pretty good for just 1M Lia. Its costs alot up here in Canada to play with our toys - Dan

THis is quite interesting. I pay something like $75 a year for basic liability here in CA which as I understand it is the minimum yearly charge with progressive, and when I added a second bike with the same covereage level it was like $1 more per year .

I guess I'm not going to plan on moving to Canada, what with the high insurance cost AND the short riding season, I LIKE to ride pretty much year round.

$701 per year, bare-bones state requirement, for two bikes, Honda V65 Sabre, and the XS1100sf. This includes reductions in premium for completion of a motorcycle safety course, the fact that I also insure my car with them, and some penalties for a single speeding ticket a couple of years ago.

For some reason, they have the SF classified as a "standard" bike rather than a "cruiser".This gets the SF a higher premium. And the Sabre is a "cruiser" in their books, not in mine..

That's because the XS is a Standard style bike. Look in any MSF book, and the pictures they have that describe the different styles shows a bike that looks EXACTLY like an XS as the example for "Standard".
