  • 78 Pacifico fairing availability

Just wondering how readily available the original Yamaha Pacifico fairings ,from the 78e are?

I picked up the 78E and it has a pacifico on it, but not the type that would have come on it originally. I theink the mount may be for the original, though, as it doesn't fit the fairing on it quite right.

Also, there is a pair of lowers for the XS1100 pacifico on Ebay, cheap. Although the guy won't ship up here, they are still a good deal.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

    Fairing

hey craz when my 78 was bought the owner had the dealer put on the hard bags, sissy bar, cruising seat, and fairing and lowers which is a wind jammer with cycle sound, so i don't if there was a choice of fairings back then!!

Yours is a generic Vetter Windjammer III. I have an 80G with the Yamaha Vetter on it (rectangular headlight) as well.

The 78 I have here has a pacifico on it, but it is a generic 'Aero' I think. However the mount bracket is for the larger Classic fairing as far as I can tell.

If possible I would like to gt a hold of a the correct fairing for this bike, but not sure how easy that will be.

What gets me is those lowers for sale on Ebay, they are going dirt cheap and I would pick them up, just in case, but the seller won't ship out of the US. he's in Georgia, US.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

Anyone out there have a picture of the original XS1100 with Pacifico classic fairing?

Did they have a round or rectangular headlight?

Here's one. I believe, since they were only on the '78, the Pacifico's had the rectangular headlight.

Cool, was looking for a picture.

Here is one on Ebay, missing the lowers. Anyone know what those bags and trunk are?

                  thanks.
This is a Yamaha touring package, I don't think it was made by K&G but I'm not sure about that.
I need to sell the bike and may end up removing and selling the touring stuff if no one buys the complete cycle.

Wow! That's an elegant bike! I really like the colors and the touring package/seat. I can definitely understand your desire for a trunk. That would really finish out the package!

I don't think shipping on just the trunk would be all that bad. They aren't that large and are not very heavy.

It's the rack that is odd shaped and heavy.

I would like to find the original Yamaha venture trunk for my 80G. Right now it has the Vetter Tour pack trunk. Everything else is the orignal setup.

I found a Pacifico fairing, that has 'Yamaha' on it, but it has a round headlight. The price is right, I just have to drive 20hrs to get it!

                            Maybe this weekend.

Here is what is on the 78E:

and a shot of the mount where the lowers would go.

I know this is not one of the fairings that came on the XS11, not sure about the mount, as this fairing had to be adapted to fit the mount.
