  • What is still original on your bike?

Seeing the thread of what mods have you done, it got me to thinking (ouch). What is still original on your bike?
Well, on mine, it's not much. Because of accidents and cosmetic upgrades, the only things left on my bike from when I bought it as a rat in 91, is the rear inner fender, rear M/C, triple tree assembly, wiring harness, and the engine. That's all that's left of it.
    What's left on yours?

Other than the replacement for broken windshield and a semi-worthless Whitney seat and some scuffs here and there mine is still as it came from the dealer.

      Original

On my 78 everything but the paint, exhaust and the seat. The only reason I changed the seat is because I found an oem seat here on Ch.11. On my 79, everything is completely original except me.

Though I have done alot of things to my machine it is surprising how much stuff is still original. Actually, I am about the only major thing that has been changed. I am the second owner (purchased it in 1980).

If those tires are stock, I sure hope you aren't riding it! Just because a tire has tread, doesn't mean it's still good. Tires get brittle and dry after just a few years. I would say right around 5 years is all you want to put on a tire, no matter what the wear is.
