Is the ballast resistor holding me back?

I just installed the 3.3 ohm coils from Mikes XS and its running a bit rough and sporadic. Should I have bypassed the ballast resistor? In searching the forums I found some posts suggesting that the resistor should be taken out of the equation, but nothing solid one way or the other.

By pass the resistor. The 3.3 ohm coils are made to function with iut a resistor.

Yes, bypass the resistor. It's actually very easy. Unplug the two wires from the resistor, remove some of the wrap and plug them into each other. You then need to tape them up so they will NOT short against the tank!(don't Ask!!)
