  • Removing Pins from Electrical Connectors

Can the male and female pins be removed from the connector blocks non-destructively. I assume there's some simple way of doing it.

I've some corroded wires/pins that need replacing.

I assume there's a proper tool for doing so, but if you look to the front side of the pin where they are sticking through the connector, a small jewelers screwdriver or sometimes a thick paper clip can be inserted to lif up on the little retaining piece, It's a small thin piece of brass that curves down and catches on an edge of the plug when trying to pull back on it. You raise that little tab up then pull on the wire.. and it SHOULD come out. Corrosion can be a PITA though.

Yes they can. A Molex pin removal tool should do the job.

If theyre the flat spade connector type then Tod's method is as good as any, and if you have round type connectors then the Molex tool is required as stated by MrOzz. It can be got here...http://www.jab-tech.com/Male-and-Fem...l-pr-2375.html
