    Oh, geez ...

replaced the tci box with gm ign. modules
This worries me .... can you still see the four wires that are W/g, W/r, Y/g and Y/r that were in the four wire plug at the TCI? If so, check for approx. 720 ohms between the two whites and the two yellows. If open, the ign. coils won't fire.

If you can still put a TCI back in place, if I were you, I'd consider doing that. Replacements are pretty cheap .... I have a couple of extra.

Hey Max turn on the ign key and check to see if you have power to the coils. You may have a connection problem. It looks to me like they get power threw the resister when running and from the stater circuit when cranking. If you have 12 volts at the coil primary's and you've tried the tci then check your pickup wires to the tci and all your plug connections.Terry

I'm having this same problem with Pop's E. I've had it running 3 different times and then suddenly nothing again. I tested the caps with my ohm meter and it says they're getting juice. I can't remember how many ohms it read, it was 3 days ago. Should I go over the connections? Any in particular?

              Hey, bobber ...

your everywhere, aren't ya'? Get them smooth bores yet?

Although pick up coil wire failures are some of the most common problems found on the XS11 as these bikes have gotten older, they are still often missed and misdiag'd by owners and mechanics alike.

Several members have good write ups at the link to the TECH TIPS below ... dust off your multimeter and check 'em out

                ...truely xsive

haha wiz, yeah. I've been living, breathing, and sleeping xs11's since my dad brought home a fixer upper. I bought one of my own and then I found this site and I'm probably on here 4-5 hours a day. I've learned so much already it's insane. At first, I was like "eh, a motorycycle. whatever." and that some how developed in to an obsession of these machines. I've also gained the confidence to do a lot of things I would've never attempted before in fear of fubaring something up because of reading so much about it... like the head bearings. It's a pain in the a$$, but not so bad since I had nearly 100% of the idea from this site. As far as those carbs, I'm deffintely going to get those smooth bores someday, but until then I'm working with the CV's. My dad always tells me when I dream I dream in color. And I always reply with, "I don't dream in color. I dream in high definition 1080p."

As far as tech tips... I've read almost all of them, lol
