how to rmv odom knob

one member needs an odometer knob. i have just rmvd a broken speedo with a good odom knob and tried to pull and twist it out but got notta. i dont want to break it removing it. any one know how to get them out in one piece??

The Knob mam....just the knob.

If you are only looking to remove the knob, it may help that it is a left handed thread.

Hi Redbone,
Like DGXSER sez, it's a LEFT hand thread. You gotta screw it on to screw it off.
As it's most likely been there for over 20 years it could be a bit stuck.
Take the outer case off so you can grip the stalk it's threaded onto with a pair of needle-nose pliers as you unscrew the knob.

Mine screwed right off. Left hand threads, of course. Maybe yours is just stuck?

Try spraying it, soaking it, in PB Blaster. Thay stuff does the trick on just about anything.
