    it should include a "gauge", which is just another word for a ruler to measure the float level.
    When you set your floats you need a gauge that hangs over the top of the floats. Trying to eyeball it with a ruler-like device will not be accurate. I prefer a carpenter's combination square. The cast part of it hangs over the floats perfectly, and the 'ruler' part just fits in between the flange ridge on the gasket seating surface and the edge of the flange. I always set the square 1mm proud of what I'm looking for (if I want 25.5mm I set it to 26.5mm), and adjust the floats until I see about 1mm of light between the top of the float and the square. IMHO you never want your measuring device to actually touch the top of the floats - they're way too easy to push down.
    I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
