    Hi geniusloerts,
was it always too short or did it suddenly become so at the last tire change?
The one says "wrong part" and the other says "assembly error".

it has always been too short in the 2 years i have known the bike.....and since he has had it. its almost like the swing arm has been spread apart.....

is there a diffrence between standard and special axle shafts?

IIRC, the axles are the same. Even if the swing arm has been 'spread apart', the axle fits inside the swingarm pinch area (right side), so it should line up on the cotter side (left). Are you sure you've got it torqued down properly? Has the P.O. used the correct wheel bearing on the left? JAT.

its torqued properly...... the only thing i can think of is a wrong spacer.....but the only diffrence is one and its less than 1/8" difference

well i fixed it.......it turns out that there was a spacer in there that was not supose to be.....it was one off of the front wheel of another bike...so i donated my caliper bracket off my spare bike and voola he notw has a pin to keep the back end from falling apart
