I would like to convert my current headlight (original sealed beam bulb) to a halogen bulb and I have a fairing (Yamaha fairing made by Pacifico for 78 XS11). The current bulb fits in the fairing housing and is held in place by a chrome trim ring. Is it just a matter of buying the halogen housing (like from Mike's XS) and seeing if that fits inside the fairing? Do you need to cut away the housing that's now in the fairing to accomodate the halogen setup? I am really nervous about cutting into the fairing, it's in great shape and I would hate to hack it up. Has anybody done this with this fairing? Can you even buy replacements for the old sealed beam bulbs? As always, thanks for the advice.
