i still have not gotten this thing running yet i just dropped off the carb's to be cleaned so i should get them back in a day or two so i should then see if it runs. but i still heed to get a oil filter oil for it (still don't know what kind to put in) and get the rear break bleed and refilled to see if that needs to be rebuilt but is should be on the road here some time be for winter. but this just helps me to figure out what i all have to do to make if a safe bike for me all i am going to do is ride a round town with it so i don't wast all the gas that i do in my truck that only gets 10 mpg and a 40 gal gas tank but any advice on anything will help i know there just little questions but they help me a lot

I'm certainly not going to the yamaha dealer to pay $14 for a filter and $6 or $7 a quart for the oil. Stay with either dino or semi synth at most unless you WANT your clutch to slip (I know I know, that not guaranteed, but I know it's a lot more likely to have slippage problems with synth than with dino, especially the MC formulas). I didn't however pay the extra 50 cents they wanted for the "special wet clutch formula", particularly since it was only 10/30 or 10/40.Cy

I know there is a lot of debate on the issue, but for an extra buck a quart, I feel slightly more comfortable with it. And frankly I think the diff was even less between it and diesel oil (more like 45 cents or so).
