  • Yikes! Me starter button broke off!

I was absolutely ready for my ride to work this am when that dang-ol' button just sheared right off. What are my options, long and short? XS11SF.

    Thanks!

The first option is to go to the nearest salvage yard, and see if they have a used right hand switch assembly from any XS model, 400-1100. The button is easy to remove and replace.
The next option is to order one from mikesxs.com. The starter and horn buttons are the same.

John, thanks for the fast reply! I figured out what'll work in the short term. I removed my key from the ignition switch, crammed it down the starter (now) hole and she sparked right up! Good thing I can remove my key while in the "on" position. Thanks again!

You can also get new switch buttons off of ebay, they are on there regularly. I however am stuck with the earlier options since the PO completely removed all signs of the start button, wiring and all and wired it to a push button in the fairing. Just not much of a priority since the button on the fairing works pretty well.

Oh, check with this guy on ebay, I have bought them from him, nice quality part. http://myworld.ebay.com/waterboy4&ss...MEFSX:SELLERID

I just bought a new starter button.

And my 3 year old got ahold of the little baggie.

                            So I need another.

For the short term you can take the button out of the horn switch and move it to the starter switch, they are the same.

When it happened to me, i made a new on on the lathe. pretty easy.
