Diaphram rubber shrinkage?

Now Ken THAT would be some "SIGNIFICANT SHRINKAGE". LOL (Think Seinfeld)
As to the carb diaphrams, I must just be REALLY lucky. everytime I have had mine apart, I've had no problem getting the lip to sit in the groove as long as I want it to. Just line it up with the slide raised up a bit, the diaphram rolled crown up, and push the lip in all the way around. Lucky I guess.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

rubber diaphram shrinkage
I was wondering if I GENTLY warmed the rubber part with a hair dryer, It might streach enough to stay put while I put the spring and cover on. I also have a XJ650 which I had no problem like this. I may try the Yamabond idea if the hair dryer idea doesn't work
