    Mine is glued on with ABS plumbing glue, and so far it's been fine.

      the "key" lock on the side cover

      I know this is too late for most of us (yes, us) but if you check, that "lock" on the left side cover can be opened with ANY thing that fits in the slot. I worked 20 years at a prison, and inmates would stand in front of a door all day asumming that it's locked. It's called being instatutionalized. I repaired mine with a home made weld nut tacked to the frame and a screw through the lower tab after I ground it smooth. Good way to salvage left side covers. P.S., if you're lucky enough to have a "locking side cover, keep it lubed!
