    Some of us do

    I think a few of us do but really appreciate customs but the whole point of building a custom is to have some originality and vison. (and skills to accomplish it) Hacking something together for an afternoon of fun dosen't qualify as a custom. There are some excellent examples on this site of what a real custom should look like. Some are full tilt bobbers and choppers and some are milder customs. A faithfully restored bike would take longer to do than a modified bike. (I have one of each) To me it's more a matter of vison and skill than choosing between stock or custom.
    If he just wanted to learn how to build, I just wish he had butchered something that was scap to begin with. Rick
