Power is good, bike is running smooth, and I've hit >50mpg once, so far.

I must have one heck of a pipe! I am currently running 120's in my SG, and the last dyno sheets showed the thing running lean from 6-8000 RPM @ 5500ft above sea level. I modded a Mac 4-1 into a 4-2-1, mostly to diminish the large "fat spot" at 4500 rpm. The mod only helped the intended goal slightly, but following proper jetting to 125's, we are looking to see about 85 wheel hp @ my altitude of 5500 ft. With the 120's, it gets good mileage (about 36), and power is fine (78/9 hp @rear wheel). But for the extra power I will have to jet up...I don't know what O2 sensors everyone else is using, but this is info from dynojet equipment. Jetting is all about individual setups...

Hey Don,

Here's your sign! The picture says it was 1991, it's a 79 special, I think that made it 12 y/o when it was taken! Remember, this is/was his dad's bike, he doesn't have it, he's gotten another bike that he's building as a tribute to his dad!

VERY NICE bike, WOW a pile of chrome on her too eh. Looks like stacks on the carbs. Were they just open into what looks like an air box.

Yes, the stacks were open. Here in Cali forget it with the air here. He had it set-up like that for 20 years.

He liked his chrome. All my chrome is ready to pick up.

Right behind the carbs is an anodized aluminum cover. Just cosmetic to cover the opening where the air box was.

45 mpg

I got that once. I took a long ride up A1A at no more than 40 mph. Typically, my mileage is in the 30s. Mine is mostly stock.
