i had some no go problems and thought i had solved the problem by cleaning the ignition switch connector... (it had gotten hot and was very corroded). so on to the carbs. got the carbs to stop leaking and the bike suddenly quit.
the main fuse had 2 blobs of solder on the cap . the plastic was slightly melted and the fuse was dead. replaced the fuse. nogo. power at the red wire on the main fuse. no power at the red wire input on the ignition switch.
made a jumper with alligator clips and went from top of main to the input red wire at the ignition switch. it worked... lights/tried to start. my question? is that a solid wire thru the harness from the main fuse to the ignition.. my interpretation of the wiring diagram says yes... so i should be able to ziptie a lead along the harness between the two? yes? don't really wanna cut the harness wrap and chase down the bad portion of the wire. so anybody know for sure that it has no other connections along the way?
