I finally got the XS up on a lift Thursday and pulled the carbs off. Besides the mouse droppings in the air box, this is what I found.

I couldn't see the damaged boot when I bought the bike since it's from carb #3 and the PO had used used a heat activated tape to plug the hole. It looks like the PO destroyed this guy when messing with the carbs at some point. I'm headed to a local used motorcycle parts store today to see if they have one. All of the other boots look practically new.

if they are in decent shape you may want to exchange them with a member that might want the gold. Those are pretty hard to come by, and some may need them for their bikes and be more than happy to pay shipping to exchange for the silver chrome parts that are not as rare. JAT
