Not on the XS, but I've had a set in one of my Sportsters. Nice product after I ditched the straight-rate spings and put in progressives. The RaceTech springs were just too harsh for my taste. But these things are a PITA to get 'fine tuned' for max performance and overkill for a non-racer. I wouldn't buy them for a Sportster again as there's cheaper/easier alternatives that work just as well given my riding habits (no chicken strips, but I don't drag stuff either).

Best bang-for-the buck IMHO are the progressive springs and some experimenting with different fork oil weights if you want better damping. Only after trying all this would I step up to the cartridge emulators. But don't expect miracles with the wimpy 36mm forks on the XS.

No. The fork emulators are $170. Custom springs are just over $100 more. Yes, that's expensive, but considerably less than a grand.
