When my OEM mufflers rusted out, I replaced them with a pair of EMGO "extra long" mufflers (80g) I bought from JCW. With minor mods, I was able to get them on. It takes a trained XS'er eye to notice they are not OEM. They sound good (to me anyway), still look good and I didn't hafta frig with the jetting. My header pipes were still in good shape though. I kept the OEM 4 to 2 look, my center stand and I can still get to the oil filter.

Code:P.S. Tim - I've got the same issue with the center stand rattling around. I took a piece of heater hose and duct taped/electrical taped it to the center stand where it makes contact with the muffler bracket. Doesn't clunk anymore, but it's still kind of dangling. I don't suppose you have a close-up of the stop you made, do you?
Look in the member photos area. I uploaded a picture of the center stand stop. I used the OEM rubber isolator in the original muffler hanger hole but had to grind it down because the sleeve in the center was too deep for the bolt to tighten all the way. I also added a fender washer on the outboard side just under the bolt head. On the inside, just a lock washer and that OEM oblong funky nut.

This is the clearance around the filter area, not only do the lines (from the oil cooler) hit the pipes, but the extra 2" of thickness won't let me get the filter cap back on.
Second pic is to show how low the pipe runs under the center stand brackets.'07 Virago
