Me too. But considering it took me almost 23 years to be able to afford the VMax I have, I'll be waiting till around 2031 before I can afford the new Max...

I would rather have an XS any day over a big v-twin cruiser....

      your choice friend.

It sounds like there is nothing special about the xs that keeps you, so go ahead and get rid of it and get your v-twin. But, if you do. Please please keep me in mind for it here in Louisiana. I'll be up in Oaklahoma City faster than you can say for sale.

I've been looking at FZ1's myself, but never considered getting rid of my XS. The insurance is DIRT cheap, bike only cost me $500, and it'll spank pretty much any cruiser on the street. Not to mention, i've NEVER seen another XS on the streets in San Antonio.

If it were me, i'd try to keep the XS and get the new bike you want. But then again, $3k is a good chunk of change for a 30 yr. old bike.

I have a 1600 Vulcan Mean Streak, and the 80 MNS. I still find myself cruising to work 1-2 days a week on the 80 MNS. If I had the fairing on it for better wind protection like my Meanie I would be riding it much more often.

Get the newer bike, then tell yourself that you are going to fix the "old one" then sell it. I am still fixing my "old one" after 2 years. I guess it will never go down in value so it doesn't hurt to keep it around.

I've always liked the FZ1s too - until recently. Yamaha can't quit meddling and is turning the newest FZ1 into the R1...
