  • Head/Acorn nuts revisited

I was searching around for threads on this but gave up and just searched the net. Found some in a few spots just wondered if anyone used the "cool looking" ones.

    http://www.mmsacc-stainless.com/metr...s_washers.html

This one lists 10mm x 1.25 pitch stainless acorns 2.50 a piece, plus I see "thick" washers on that page..

I stumbled upon these different looking ones but I dont think they are stainless. Also it says only 4 available.

Anyone else have a source of stainless ones? Mine are pretty rusty so not gonna try reusing them. Stainless ones should last a few rebuilds I would think.

      Uhhhh...... OK?

If you need a few extras, I think I have some left over. I can send them to you. I can't guarantee they will shine up. Thne again I am not sure I like the idea of another man shining my acorn nuts.
      Ich habe dich nicht gefragt.

          Stainless acorns

Unless you know the depth of the 18-8 stainless acorn nut, you would be taking a chance that the threading would not be sufficient for the amount of head bolt shank required to properly re-torque the head. But those are the ones I originally put on my "Blue-Streak" rear shocks and they polished to chrome and stayed that way.......If you can find a titanium acorn in that thread pitch, you would have a winner.....chop
