I have a 1979 F. it had the square clocks
I am fitting the 1980SF round clock cluster.
The F cluster has a fuel gage, the SF cluster has a warning light
Q1 Is the sender unit compatabile,

The F cluster has two warning lights for the signal lamps
The SF cluster has a single warning light for the signal lamps.
Q 2... Can somebody draw a symatic for the re wireing of the SF clocks to the F wireing loom.

    Photos?
As I have removed my wire loom to paint the bikes frame , I am now refitting it. The manuel is not very clear as the where the wires are routed.
Q3.Can somebody give me a link to clear photos of the main wireing harnes fitted to a frame , pic from above. Or a serries of pics showing the location of all relays ,block connetors, control boxes , mounted in their locations,
ie, a pick of behind the fuse box panel so I can route my loom the correct way. Thanks

Q4.Signal flasher. To remove self canceller, ...fitting a stand car flasher unit should do this?

Q5.Head Lamps . What is the max wattage bulbs you can use with the std headlight relay, thinking twin bulbs. Or is it a better option to wire in headlight relay from a car, bypassing the std relay.

I am able to do the work myself, just need pics and or suggestions for this work.

Each of you will have your own ideas on these Q's, I would like to hear them , or links explaining them.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the SF's utilize more of a sensor to activate the fuel warning light whereas the F's (standards) use an actual float. BTW SF is a 79, 80's were SG's

There was an excellent CD offered on this site and contained in it was all of the wiring routing diagrams. Don't know if it is still offered.

2 prong auto flasher I believe will work.

You just need to get the different sending unit out of a special tank. I am pretty sure they are a direct swap. I am swapping to a standard tank and dealing with the same problem.

Q4: Yes. You need a 2 prong flasher.
Q5: Go with HID(s) LESS watts, but lots more light.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
