  • Float Bowl Gaskets

Ok I'am confused again, no big surprise really.

I want to clean my carbs, I'm having a few issues.

I went to parts and more so I can order the float bowl gaskets. When I looked, I saw a carb rebuild kit, Part#48-1408. The float bowl gasket is different than Part#20-7024. Is the something I should worry about? Or is it the same? Should I order the gasket from somewhere else?

What I need is the float bowl gasket for a 1980 xs1100 special.

Thanks again for all your help.

I asked TC about that the other day and he said the Part#20-7024 is wrong and you don't need it anyways because the CARB REBUILD KIT Part#48-1408 comes with the correct float bowl gasket. So if you only need the gasket then I guess you'll have to look somewhere else or order 4 CARB REBUILD KITS!

Thanks again Montreux Blue for your help.

But if I just wanted the gaskets any ideas where to get them?

              BTW

              Mikesxs.com is a XS650 site.
There are several items that can be used either on 650's or 1100's.
Have to pay attension to decrptions
Also check if cost of freight is worth buying from more than one site.

Remember, in a pinch you can always make them. I have done this before and the fuel hardened, used gasket made an excellent template.

But the factory cut gaskets are better if you can get them.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.
