yeah the heat problem with the load resistors is the main thing stopping me from wanting to use them just to get LED lights. i will get a pair of dual filaments for the front lights and move the single filament ones to the rear and will check the wire while i'm there. thanks for being so patient and helpful guys Oh good news! i'm going to barrow a power drill and make little "L" shaped brackets so i can mount those single filament turn signals right onto my license plate It will definately clean it up a bit back there.

"However, according to Crazcnuk's explanation, then even this wouldn't be sufficient to handle 1 replaced incandescent bulb let alone two that would be working at any given time or, 4 if the emergency flashers were engaged."

I don't know if you need the 27 watts, for each bulb , or not. I just know that each 1157 bright filament draws 27 watts.

I would assume that the flashers have a range, and don't actually require exactly a 27 watt draw.

I know that Superbright LEDS sells 25 watt, 25 ohm ones to fool the bulb burnout sensor, but they make 6ohm 50 watt ones for signal lights and they say to use one for EACH bulb you are replacing.

No idea why it takes a 50 watt resistor to replace a 27 watt bulb

I ordered the wrong ones, ie the 25 watt ones (2) thinking that is all I would need. Wrong. They were not enough to trip the signal light flasher, but two of them DID make the 4-way flasher system work!?!?.

I just broke down and bought 2 of thier LED flashers, and they work great now.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...
