  • She awakes from her slumber..

For a while I have been posting off and on about carbs/shudder at 2000 to 3000 revs. The Problem seems to have been cleared up. Does anyone remember Aachem's Razor? After a short conversation with Robert Reil, I chased the issue down to the vacuum advance. In one of the triple cleanings, I failed to clear the vacuum port for the advance from the #2 carb. That done, the scooter is a happy camper now, pulling cleanly from 1500 up, no matter what gear its in. I also put 120 main jets all the way across. Clymer's says that it should have had 110-120-120-110. I am running a k&n and Kerker. I also lowered the float level a tad, 21.5 cm in the-upside-down-and-backwards-with-holding-your tongue-in-the-right-way method, while I had the bowls off.

I forgot how quick these things are for a 20 year old bike.

Lets just hope it stays that way....

Does anyone have a photo of the euro 1.1 fairing? I might just try to find one for the Midnight, if it will turn out right...

    Thanks for the inputs..

It just so happens I took some brand new pictures of the 1.1 Sport as we have a nice sunny spring day today in SE England

Amazing - the bike even looks clean!

    Some pics are here:

Thanks for the reply, but the photos would not link and show up.

Is the fairing attached to the bar via generic style clamps, or a specialty fitting to the hedlight bucket or what? I do like the looks, from what I see on the small photo on your post.

        XS 1.1 pictures

        Rats...

Sorry about the pictures - will see what I can do.

In the meantime, the fairing is bolted on a simple frame that surrounds the headlight, so ultimately suspended at the front yokes (triple clamps).

If I can post them here in a day or two will give it a go

I do appreciate your efforts. BTW this week here it will approach the low 80's, bright sun expected, you can guess what I'll be doing...
