I've been following this but think it's a great idea. My problem is no time off from work and so busy right now. I always wondered why there was nothing going on from the guys in the Mid West!?
I got the 1100 running now but won't have to work forever so hard. I hope! Keep it up!

You know, I've been really lucky that my business has been busy lately but i intend to make time somehow!!! I did mess with my headlite & got it working OK I think. Rode about 30 or so miles (speedo quit) & realized for sure I need new shocks. Been thinking about changing i'ts nickname to "1100 POGO-STICK" Are we too old to camp? Garry

Midwest Chapter of the Xsive ones.

Hey Fusion Guy, I would be interested also if a ride is toward fall. I am stuck in the middle of restoring my 11 and I haven't been able to sell my gold wing and my boss wants a lot of saturday work. Other than that, I'm in!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, we don't have to have just one ride, we could do several a year and meet in different locations to help out everone get in at least one ride. and again, by the way, I nominate you as Chapter Prez!!!

Hey xs11jack you are scaring me man! I'm really a klutz at book type stuff & I have a sort of a problem with authority ha ha. And thats the good stuff! I do hope I can work out all my bugs in time for Steppenwolf. It would sure be a real long ride for my bike. Don't think I really trust it THAT far! But then maybe.........Garry

Hey...sorry I've missed this thread until now. A central ride sounds good to me if I can wing the time. Maybe I should just fly down to Lake of the Ozarks some Sat.

I'm pretty active with XS triple rides in the area also...our annual North Central triple rally is July 11-13 up in the McGregor, IA-Prairie du Chien, WI, area, and we have an Oklahoma gathering in the extreme northeast corner, just south of Miami (maybe 45 min. from Joplin) in Sept. that started as a triple gathering but has become a run-what-ya-brung thing...any and all are invited. We've had triples, an 1100 a few years back, Harleys, Beemers, and a Kawasaki Concours. But all these guys have either had triples, other XS models, have known someone that had an XS in their lives, can balance a bike, know what a motorcycle is...as you see, we've kinda degraded.

I would like to do something with the 1100H, now that I at least have 3rd/4th/5th gear that I can hammer...

When you say "fly" do you mean on a plane or on your bike? With a name like bikerhawk one could become somewhat confused. ha Garry

Definitely on the bike, although I've had some rough times trying to fly down Hwy 71 in MO on the triple...

The "bikerhawk" name just has to do with the KU connection I have. It's also my Ebay handle. Nothing more complicated than that (besides, ever try to lash an XS onto a Cessna for a flight??).

                      FusionKing for Prez

You shouldn't be scared, just organise the rides, such as getting in touch with everyone to announce a ride date or take suggestions for the ride. Not much paperwork in that!! As for the CMA, I have been thinking on joining but don't know how to find the time to do it right.

You know when I started workin' on this idea I was sorta thinkin' that I would inspire some of our more leader type people to jump up and go for it. If I was to find the time to get involved enough to organize an actual event it would need to be late july or in aug. My weekend stuff is fairly booked till then. Anybody who feels like cruising down this way would certainly be a welcome site! Need to get my shocks, need to get my shocks, need to get....................Garry

Ride is planned........ ANYONE WANNA COME?

1st ANNUAL SUMMER MIDWEST XS-ives Rally.

I scouted this ride yesterday. Almost too long. but I wanted to wrap it arround an already planned event like HOGG FARM. That way this can serve as a annual thing and have room to grow. I really NEED to know if this will fly with this group. I will keep it a closed ride if we can get a good group of riders. Ride is planned for JUNE 21. www.HOGGFARMRALLY.com for other details. Open to all XS-ives from all areas. Let me know how everyone feels about this ride. General info on location.... 1.5 hrs east of St Louis, 5 hrs south of Chicago, 2 hrs west of Evansville IN. 3hrs North of Nashville.

BikerHawk, can you get me more info on the North Central triple rally, July 11-13 up in the McGregor, IA-Prairie du Chien, WI? You did say that you allow more than just triples. Have not checked SWMBO’s schedule but sure would like to go and it is close enough the old XS might make it.

                              Hi Bob -

The annual North Central Yamaha Triple Rally is slated for July 11-13 at Paradise Valley Campground, 5 miles south of McGregor, Iowa, just off CR X56. Either go south from McGregor on 340 and catch X56 at the state park, or catch X56 north out of Guttenberg. Yes, other XSives are more than invited...we've had them in the past, along with a Wing or two and others I can't even remember.

Contact Steve Johnston for more details: stjohn@pressenter.com
