  • All LED all the time!

Just put my new LED bulbs all over the Junkyard Dog.

It's an 80G (std) and used:

    Main lights

    6 1157-x24 Red Wide Angle
    2 1157-X24 Amber Wide Angle
    2 1157-A30-RA Amber Right Angle

I have the Vetter trunk, hence the extra 4 red lights.

    Dash Lights

    5 BA9s-G-x-12V 120deg Wide Angle Green
    2 BA9s-A-x-12V 120deg Wide Angle Amber
    1 BA9s-B-x-12V 120deg Wide Angle Blue
    2 BA9s-R-x-12V 120deg Wide Angle Red

I used 4 green for my gauge back-lights, easily bright enough to see, yet not bright enough to bother you while you drive in the dark.

The extra red is for the headlight warning lamp.

I didn't order flashers (like a twit) as I thought I could get them locally, WRONG!. I've ordered 2 of the motorcycle ones.

They are much brighter than my old lights. The wide angle fills up the entire lens. Even the tail light lights all the lens. Only the 90 Deg ambers in the back signal lights are not wide angle, and they are also 30 led, making them brighter than the others.

The headlamp warning light is partially on, as usual, and during the day, it looks like the old light. At night, it lights up the whole lens, making it look like it is on, fully, almost.

The 1157's, alone, used to use 80watts! (8wx10). I hooked up the center two on the trunk as high mounted brake lights.

Only issue, is that now my high-beam indicator likes to flicker rapidly while I am on low beam sometimes...

For photos of the LEDS, usually WITHOUT the flash!

If you have a tripod, will help in setting the camera using the timer function so that it will be still enough to capture enough light WITHOUT the flash, and not blurr the image since it'll use a very slow shutter speed while trying to capture the dim amount of light!

Catching the turn signals can be a challenge, I put my ER flashers on so I could catch both at the same time, and then just try timing hitting the shutter so that with the LAG time of digital cameras, you'll have it taking the picture during the time the flashers are ON!?

I used a rubber band on the handlebar lever to hold the brake lever/light ON vs. a shot of the tail lights without the brakes on!

Am I understanding this right that these led bulbs are a drop in replacement for the normal incandescent bulbs?
          Ich habe dich nicht gefragt.

              www.superbrightleds.com

Cost me about $112 for everything. 20 bulbs, flashers (std uses 2), the whole shooting match.

Should reduce charging system load by 50-60 watts.

Next is an HID headlight conversion....

The pictures look brighter than they are, too long of an exposure, but I don't know how to change that on this camera.

They are brighter than the stock lights, and look pretty sharp.

The HID headlight drops another 25 watts off the system.

                      Another L.E.D. lighting source

I have tried some of V-Leds product and they seem to work well. Experimenting with end firing and side firing to see which I like best. One bulb emits straight out of the end of it the other shoots it from the sides. I have found these on eBay as well under the vled name.
