hey folks.
I've spent a good chunk of the day going through my buddy's XJ1100 carbs... apparently some crud found its way into the bowls, and it was time for inline filters.
first, I just like to note that the Octopus is a great big pain in the arse. Why would it be located in such a way that gas had to go upstream? ...and the petcocks sit so low that you hardly have any room to maneuver with the fuel lines.
anyway, I cleaned up the carbs, colortuned them to a nice Bunsen blue color, but the bike pops a little on decel. it seems like I have to set the pilots almost to yellow flame to avoid the popping. I checked intake and exhaust for leaks, and haven't found any.
Any ideas?
Could maybe throttle shaft seals be a potential problem on a bike with 22K miles?..
